Group therapy · Carlton & online

Small group therapy programs for specific topics.

Two new six-session groups start this October — one on relationship and communication patterns, one on psychedelic integration. Each is led by one therapist, runs in our top-floor Carlton space or online, and stays small enough that everyone gets airtime.

6 fortnightly sessions
90 minutes each
6–8 people per group
$490 for the block

Why a group

What a group does that one-on-one work doesn't.

See your patterns in real time

A group puts what you’re working on in the room as it happens, not just described after the fact.

Feedback from more than one person

Your therapist and the rest of the group, not just one perspective on what you bring.

You're not the only one

A small group with a shared focus — less isolating than working through it entirely on your own.

The groups

Two groups, two focuses.

Nash Mbani

Relationship & Communication Group

Led by Nash Mbani, Counsellor & Mental Health Nurse

For people who want to get better at the mechanics of relating — communication, conflict repair, and staying connected under pressure. This group is for individuals working on their own patterns, not couples attending together. Nash draws on more than 20 years in psychiatric nursing and a long history facilitating groups, alongside her ongoing individual and couples work.

Good fit if: you keep having the same argument in different relationships, want to get better at naming what you need, or want practice — not just insight — in how you show up with other people.

Meg Wilson

Psychedelic Integration Group

Led by Meg Wilson, Founder & Psychotherapist

A space to slow down with what a significant psychedelic or altered-state experience opened up, and work out what to do with it now. Meg trained in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy through MAPS and is affiliated with AMAPP, the Australian Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Practitioners.

Good fit if: you're processing a significant psychedelic or altered-state experience, regardless of the setting it happened in.

This group is talk-based integration support only. We don't supply, administer, or facilitate access to any substance, and we don't discuss how or where to source one. If you're currently using or planning to use, this isn't the right space for that — we're here to help you make sense of what's already happened.

Joining a group

What it costs and how registration works.

Both groups are self-funded — there are no Medicare or EAP rebates for these programs. $490 covers all six sessions, paid once your place is confirmed.

  1. 1Register your interest by email, naming the group you’re after.
  2. 2We’ll call you for a short conversation to check fit — not a formal intake, just a quick chat.
  3. 3Confirm your place and pay the $490 program fee, which covers all six sessions.

Where and what to expect

A few practical details.

In-person sessions run in our top-floor space above the practice in Carlton. Prefer to join remotely? Both groups also run online.

What's shared in the group stays in the group. Your facilitator is bound by professional confidentiality, with the same limits that apply to any therapy — acting if there's a serious risk of harm to you or someone else.

Unison is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger call 000, or contact Lifeline 24/7 on 13 11 14.
