Queer-friendly & LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy — Melbourne & telehealth

Queer-friendly therapy for people who don't want to explain themselves.

Queer, trans, non-binary, questioning — at Unison you start from being understood, not from educating. Our queer-friendly practice was founded to serve LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse communities after seeing how often mainstream services get it wrong.

Who this is for

  • Queer and LGBTQIA+ adults seeking individual therapy with an affirming clinician
  • Trans and gender-diverse people, including those navigating transition
  • Queer relationships of any structure
  • People exploring identity, sexuality, or coming out at any age

What to expect

  • Genuinely queer-friendly practice as a baseline, not a speciality badge
  • Trauma-informed approaches including EMDR and somatic work
  • A team that includes queer and LGBTQIA+ community members
  • Online across Australia, or in person in Carlton

Why Unison, not a generalist clinic?

Unison was established in 2019 specifically because queer, LGBTQIA+, kink, and gender-nonconforming communities kept meeting judgement and naivety in mainstream services. Queer-affirming care is the foundation of the practice, not an add-on.
